แถลงการณ์ THAIRED UK ฉบับที่ 1

ท่ามกลางการต่อสู้ที่เข้มข้นแหลมคมของพี่น้องฝ่ายประชาธิปไตยสีแดง ได้มีการตอบโต้จากฝ่ายเผด็จการไม่ว่าจะเป็นรัฐบาล ทหาร กลุ่มผู้มีอำนาจนอกระบบ ได้ทำการปิดกั้นการสื่อสารมีการใส่ร้ายต่างๆนานาต่อกลุ่มพี่น้องเสื้อแดง มีการกีดกันไม่ให้พี่น้องเสื้อแดงเดินทาง มาเข้าร่วมการชุมนุมในรูปแบบต่างๆ รวมถึงมีข่าวลือว่าอาจจะมีการใช้ความรุนแรงจากฝ่ายทหารและรัฐบาลโจร เพื่อยุติบทบาทการชุมนุมและรวมตัวกันของชาวเสื้อแดง

เราชาวคน RED UK ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มสนับสนุนพี่น้องเสื้อแดงนอกประเทศไทย มีความเป็นห่วงต่อสถานการณ์ปัจจุบัน ได้มีการประชุมครั้งที่สอง (5 เมษายน 2009)เมือง Birmingham และมีมติอย่างเป็นทางการว่า กลุ่มคน RED UK ขอเรียกร้องต่อรัฐบาลและผู้มีอำนาจในสังคมปัจจุบันว่า ห้ามใช้ความรุนแรงกับพี่น้องคนเสื้อแดงที่ชุมนุมอย่างสันติ ไม่ว่าในกรณีใด ๆทั้งสิ้น

1. เราชาวคน RED UK เรียกร้องให้คืนประชาธิปไตยให้ประชาชนทันทีโดยไม่มีเงื่อนไข ต้องยกเลิกสถาบันองค์มนตรี ทหารต้องเลิกยุ่งและแทรกแซงการเมืองในทุกกรณี

2. ห้ามมีการปราบปรามต่อการชุมนุมอันสันติของพี่น้องเสื้อแดงในทุกกรณี หากมีการปราบปรามชาวเสื้อแดง คนRED UK จะเคลื่อนไหวในระดับสากล เพื่อประณามการกระทำอันป่าเถื่อนของทหารและพรรคประชาธิปัตย์ต่อขบวนการประชาธิปไตยทันที รวมถึงเปิดโปงความชั่วร้ายของฝ่ายเผด็จการในทุกๆด้าน

3. ต้องมีการยุบสภาพเพื่อคืนอำนาจให้กับประชาชน โดยใช้กฎหมายรัฐธรรมนูญปี 2540

THAI-RED-UK Declaration 1

Political events in Thailand are reaching a high point with the planned mass protest for democracy by thousands of Red Shirts on 8th April. The murky forces of the Thai Dictatorship are making every attempt to block people from joining the protests, by setting up illegal road blocks and by silencing alternative media and communications outlets. Lies are being told about the Red Shirts and there are very serious threats to use violence to disperse the demonstrators.

We, the Thai RED UK network, fully support the pro-democracy protests planned for the 8th April in Bangkok. At a meeting on 5th April in Birmingham, we resolved to call on the government and those in power to refrain from any violence against the protestors.

1. We demand that democracy be returned to Thai society immediately and without conditions. The Privy Council should be abolished and the military should stop intervening in politics.

2. We strongly oppose any violent acts by the state against the Red Shirt protests. If all those in power do not respect democratic rights and act with violence, we shall mount a vigorous international campaign to denounce them.

3. Parliament should be dissolved immediately and fresh elections held under the 1997 Constitution.
